Cape Town’s reached 14 hours of daily sunlight – and climbing

One of the many reasons Cape Town is so popular with filmmakers in summer are the long days of sunlight.

Today, 4 September, Cape Town’s twilight starts at 05:37 and ends at 19:53 – so 14 hours of ambient light has arrived!

On 20 November, there are 14 hours between sunrise and sunset; with 17 hours of ambient light.

And South Africa’s summer solstice on Thursday 21 December, has just under 18 hours of glorious ambient light.
