Warner Bros has given the green light to a CGI/live action film based on the much-loved children’s Lego building blocks, after toying with the project since 2008. Lego has twice been named Toy of the Century and today, seven sets are sold per second.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced on Wednesday that Ricky Gervais will be back to host the Golden Globes for a third year. Gervais’ return has sparked some controversy, after he poked fun at major Hollywood stars in a previous Globes show.
The British Press have given Meryl Streep’s new film The Iron Lady overwhelmingly positive reviews, citing her performance as ‘astonishing’ and one of ‘towering proportions that sets a new benchmark for acting.’ Streep plays Baroness Margaret Thatcher, and follows her early years, on to becoming prime minister, and to her political downfall in 1990.
The first trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman reveals some of director Rupert Sanders epic vision for his re-imagining of the classic ‘Snow White’ tale. Starring Kristen Stewart in the titular role, Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman, and Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen, it opens in June 2012.
